Short answer
Standard janitorial service covers, on every visit, trash and recycling, restroom cleaning and restocking, kitchen and break room cleaning, floors, and disinfecting high-touch points. Dusting, high dusting, baseboards and interior glass usually run on a rotation. Exterior windows, specialized floor care and post-construction cleanup are usually quoted separately.
Standard: every visit
- Trash and recycling: emptied, liners replaced.
- Restrooms: toilets, urinals, sinks and fixtures cleaned and disinfected; mirrors cleaned; soap and paper refilled; floors mopped.
- Kitchens and break rooms: counters, sinks and tables cleaned; appliance fronts wiped; floors swept and mopped.
- Floors: carpets vacuumed, hard floors swept and mopped in traffic areas.
- High-touch points: door handles, switches and shared equipment disinfected.
Periodic: on a rotation
- Dusting of desks, ledges, sills and partitions (often weekly)
- High dusting, vents and light fixtures
- Baseboards and door frames
- Interior glass and partitions
- Appliance interiors
Usually extra or separately scoped
- Exterior window washing
- Specialized floor care beyond routine vacuuming and mopping
- Post-construction cleanup
- Specialized areas such as labs or food production
What counts as “extra” varies by cleaner. The important thing is that it’s written down before you sign, so nothing is assumed.
